Enabling, displaying, editing and downloading subtitles for your video

When recording a video, it can be a pain to create a transcript, especially if you have some long-form content. Good news is that you don't have to do a thing to have the transcript and the subtitles ready when your recording with Prezi Video! The transcript will be automatically generated and available from the video's view page and you can also download the subtitles from the video admin page.

Enabling and downloading subtitles

Once your video is saved and processed, you'll be taken to the video admin page where you can preview your content, select a thumbnail, add a description and tags and change the privacy settings.

Here, you'll also be able to enable the auto-generated transcript and subtitles which means that anybody who can access the video's view page will be able to turn on the subtitles while watching the video and see the entire transcript under the video window. (The box is ticked by default for each video you create.)

Please note: The audio transcript, and consequently the captions are automatically generated and are supported in the following languages only: Modern Standard Arabic, German, US English, Spanish, French, Indian Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Chinese Mandarin - Mainland, Dutch, Russian, Indonesian and Hebrew.

If you'd like to edit and/or download the auto-generated subtitles, select Manage subtitles on the right. This will open up a new window where you can easily modify the automatically generated subtitles line by line. When you're done, select Publish to have the edited transcript and subtitles displayed for your video and select Download subtitles to export the transcript in .srt format.

Please note: Transcripts are only generated for videos longer than 30 seconds. It might take up to 10-20 minutes for the transcript to be generated. If you don't see the option on the video admin page, please return to it later by selecting the cogwheel icon on the video's thumbnail on your Prezi Video dashboard.
