Prezi AI FAQ

Creating presentations

What kind of AI features does Prezi offer?

Prezi AI helps you create full presentations, improve and rewrite text, and generate original images using simple prompts. You can start from a prompt or upload a file, then turn your content into a visual story that works with Prezi’s zooming format.

How can I access Prezi AI?

Currently, Prezi AI features can be accessed from the dashboard by clicking on the Create with AI button, and also in context in the editor while you are creating your content. For example, to access Prezi AI’s text optimization feature, select your text box, and choose Ask AI from the text property bar.

Can Prezi AI translate my presentation?

Prezi AI can generate a new presentation in any OpenAI-supported language using a prompt of at least six words. Learn how to create presentations in different languages with Prezi AI.

How can I create with Prezi AI using a Powerpoint file?

From your Prezi dashboard, click Start with PPTX, PDF, DOCX file. Select Upload a file and choose a .pptx document from your computer. Keep in mind that your file should contain text, rather than only images, and the size limit is 170,000 characters. Once uploaded, click Create outline to generate a suggested structure. You can then review and customize the outline before finalizing it by selecting Create presentation.

Does Prezi AI keep the original text and visuals from my PowerPoint slides?

When you import a PowerPoint file, Prezi AI uses the text from your slides to build your new presentation. The text won’t appear exactly as in your original file, since Prezi AI restructures and redesigns it to better fit the new format.
Instead of using your original visuals, we carefully choose images from our gallery to bring your story to life. If you’d like to keep specific charts, graphics, or photos from your PowerPoint, you can easily upload them later in the Prezi editor to customize the presentation and make it fully your own.

I didn't like the presentation Prezi AI created, how can I change it?

Before switching to the editor, click Recreate your presentation in the right sidebar to update your outline. You can add or remove talking points, or start fresh with a new prompt. Clicking Recreate presentation will fully replace your current version.

You can also try new color palettes, generate more by clicking the stars, and explore different design options.

How can I get back to the Prezi AI sidebar once I'm in the editor?

After you select Go to the editor, the Prezi AI sidebar can’t be reopened for that presentation. You can keep editing directly in the editor or create a new AI-generated presentation from the dashboard.

In the editor, you can still update your color palette from the Style menu, replace images, and improve text by selecting it and clicking Ask AI.

How can I change the main image of my presentation?

If the AI sidebar is still open, you can browse the available designs or click to generate more.

In the editor, select the image, click the lock icon to unlock it, and choose Replace from the context menu. In the right sidebar, you’ll see AI-recommended images and can also search by keyword to find relevant options for your topic.

I’m getting errors and Prezi AI doesn’t seem to be working. What should I do?

If Prezi AI isn’t working as expected, it may be due to a temporary service outage. You can check our status page for real-time updates.

Efforts are made to avoid including copyrighted content that is not licensed or publicly available for reuse. OpenAI excludes known copyrighted datasets and may filter out content associated with artist names or brands when users attempt to generate imitative or potentially infringing images.
  3. Training Data Scrutiny:
OpenAI applies filters, automated tools, and review processes during dataset assembly to identify and remove images that may carry copyright risks or violate terms of service from source platforms.
  4. Ongoing Review and Mitigation:
OpenAI continuously updates its safety and content moderation tools, both during training and at image generation time, to prevent outputs that resemble known copyrighted works or trademarked material.
  5. User Use Guidance:
OpenAI provides usage policies and content filters in its platform to discourage users from generating content that could infringe on others’ rights (e.g., recreations of copyrighted artwork or celebrity likenesses).
