You can navigate around the Prezi Present editor by right-clicking and dragging with a mouse or by dragging with two fingers on a trackpad.
You can also access all of these options from the Navigation bar at the bottom of the editor. To move around select the Hand tool, or use the - and + buttons to zoom in and out. |
Choosing your navigation option
You can choose whether you want to navigate around the canvas using a mouse, trackpad, or both at any time. All three options are found in the Navigation bar in the bottom of the editor. Click on Learn more to find how to use all the shortcuts to navigate in the Prezi Present editor.
You can choose to just navigate with a mouse or trackpad to ensure that no accidental movements occur, or just to make your workflow easier. Remember that this setting can be changed any time.
Regardless of your choice, you can always use the navigation bar to move around, too.
Using the navigation bar
The navigation bar is always visible in the bottom center of the screen while you’re in the editor. From here, you can quickly switch between the Select and Hand tools, choose your navigation device, return one step or go to the next frame, go back to the overview, zoom in and out and more.
Navigation bar actions:
- Select tool – Is enabled by default and allows you to select any objects on the canvas.
- Hand tool – Allows you to navigate freely without worrying about selecting objects.
- Navigation device - Allows you to select how you navigate in the Prezi Editor.
- Previous – Navigates to the previous step in your presentation’s timeline.
- Next – Navigates to the next step in your presentation’s timeline.
- Home – Returns you to the Overview from anywhere.
- Zoom out – Zooms out.
- Zoom in – Zooms in.
- Zoom to 100% – Returns you to the default zoom level.
Moving around the editor
There are three ways to move around the Prezi editor.
- Right-click and drag with a mouse.
- Swipe with two fingers on a trackpad.
- Select the Hand tool (H) and left-click and drag. You can also toggle the Hand tool by holding the space bar on your keyboard.
If you ever get lost while moving around the canvas, you can quickly return to the Overview by pressing the Overview button on the navigation bar.
Zooming in and out
There are three ways to move around the Prezi editor.
- Scroll the mouse wheel with a mouse.
- Pinch to zoom in on a trackpad, or expand to zoom out.
- Use the Zoom in and Zoom out buttons on the navigation bar.

Navigating frames
- Click on the frame you want to zoom to.
- You can navigate through all your frames by using the arrows on your keyboard or on the Navigation bar in the bottom of the editor.
- Alternatively, you can navigate through your frames by clicking on its thumbnail on the timeline's left sidebar.
Navigating topics
There are four ways to navigate in and out of topics.
- Double-click the topic to enter.
- Select the topic with a left-click and click the Zoom in button on the property bar that appears.
- Select the topic thumbnail in the timeline found on the left side of the editor.
- Hold Option (Mac) or ALT (Windows) and scroll on top of a topic to enter.
All of these methods also work for subtopics as well.
To navigate out of a topic or subtopic, zoom out like you would on the canvas. You can do this by expanding your fingers using a trackpad or by scrolling out using a mouse wheel.
If you are zoomed into multiple topics and want to quickly return to the canvas, you can click the Home button on the navigation bar to return to the Overview.
