How do I create a presentation with a PPTX, PDF, or DOCX file?

When you start with a file, Prezi AI extracts text and ideas from your slides or document to create a presentation outline. You’ll get carefully selected visuals from Prezi’s image gallery to match your story.

  1. Click the + Create new button on the top left corner of your dashboard.
  2. Choose Start with PPTX, PDF, DOCX file to get started.
  3. Alternatively, simply click the Start with PPTX, PDF, DOCX file button at the top of the dashboard. Make sure that your document has text that Prezi AI can extract, and not only images. The file size limit is 170.000 characters.
  4. Upload a file and click Create outline.
  5. Review the suggested outline, customize it, change the order, delete or add talking points.
  6. You can also go back and change your initial prompt.

To select a different option, click on its thumbnail. If you don’t like any of them, you can generate more by clicking on the Suggest new… button in each section. This will only create new options for that section.

If you want to revert back to Prezi AI’s original design, you can always do so by clicking the Revert to… buttons.

How to regenerate your presentation with new ideas

If you’re not happy with the content Prezi AI has created, you can try again with a new prompt or idea. To edit your content, click the Recreate your presentation button in the right sidebar. This will generate a presentation with a completely new design.

From the popup window, you can edit your outline, start over with an updated prompt or upload a new file.

When your new prompt is ready, click Recreate presentation.

You can do this as many times as you’d like before going to the editor. Remember that you will have the chance to enter the full editor before presenting, so it may be worth it to make minor changes on your own later.

You should know: Once you click Go to the editor, the Prezi AI sidebar will no longer be available in that presentation, unless you start a new one. In the editor, you can use AI-powered features such as Ask AI for text and frame editing when selecting a text block, as well as create your own custom AI-generated images.

How do I open my presentation in the Prezi editor?

When you're happy with the presentation Prezi AI created for you, click Go to the editor to open it in the full Prezi Present editor, where you have complete creative control. Keep in mind that once you move to the editor, the Prezi AI sidebar won’t be available for that presentation anymore.
