The overall look and feel of your presentation sets the mood for your audience. This is first created when you choose a template, but it can be changed at any time while editing. You can even set your theme by picking up to five colors to create your own custom palette. Picasso would be jealous.
When choosing a template
When you select a template to start a new presentation, you’re choosing the base for its overall look and feel. You can click on a colored dot in the left sidebar to filter templates according to their theme colors. Once you’ve chosen the template you’d like to use, click Use this template.
While editing your presentation
Click Background & Theme in the context toolbar to get the pop-out sidebar. From here you can change the look by choosing new theme colors, changing the background image, or adjusting the background color.
To change the background color, simply click on the colored square next to “Background color” and choose a color from the palette. You can also add a customized color using its hexadecimal code or by selecting it from the color chooser.
From here you can give your presentation a solid background color or choose a customized linear or radial gradient. If you choose a gradient, you’ll have to select the colors you want to start and end with.
Adding a background image
A background image can help tie your theme to your information, making an even more memorable experience for your audience. To upload an image from your computer, click Upload background image and the image will automatically be sized to fit.
You can also click Fit background to overview to adjust the background image’s sizing, or click Revert to template background to return to the original background that came with the template.
Choosing theme colors
Each template comes with predefined theme colors that complement the look and feel of the presentation. To customize your own theme colors, simply click Set color palette… and click on a colored square to select a new color.
