How to use the Prezi presenter view

The presenter view gives you a dedicated display to help you keep your delivery on track, while your audience can focus on your story. This means you can present on the big screen, while having your own view specifically designed for your private notes.

Quick steps:

  1. From the editor, click the Present button and select Presenter view.
  2. Presenter view shows you what your audience is currently seeing, as well as a preview of what’s coming next.
  3. The presentation timer automatically starts when you open Presenter view. Click the pause/play button to turn the timer off and on.
  4. Use the left and right arrows at the bottom of your screen or on your keyboard to navigate through your presentation.
  5. You can view/add/edit presenter notes while in Presenter view.

How do I launch the Presenter view?

When you are ready to present, you can launch a private view of your notes in either Prezi Present online or Prezi for desktop app.

  1. From the editor, click Present and select Presenter view.
  2. From the dashboard, click the three dots (⋮) or arrow on the presentation thumbnail and select Presenter View. Ensure pop-ups are enabled in your browser so the additional window can launch.

How do I present with the Presenter view?

Presenter view shows you what your audience is currently seeing, as well as a preview of what’s coming next. Use the left and right arrows at the bottom of your screen or on your keyboard to navigate through your presentation.

Pro Tip: To keep your notes private, when connecting to a projector, make sure to extend your display rather than mirror or duplicate it. If presenting online, ensure you share only the presentation window, not your entire screen.

If you’re using two displays, you can click Switch screen to alternate between which screen shows the presenter view and the presentation.

Pro Tip: Navigating in presenter view follows the path of your presentation. Since each display mirrors the other, you can also navigate on your second display to pan or zoom to specific parts of your presentation.

Presenter notes automatically update and display as you navigate through your presentation. To add or edit your speaker notes from presenter view, simply click and type in the presenter notes text box.

FAQ

What is Prezi Presenter view?

Prezi Presenter view is a private presenter dashboard that helps you deliver confidently while your audience stays focused on the presentation on the big screen. It gives you:

  • A live view of what your audience sees
  • A “next” preview so you always know what’s coming
  • A dedicated area for presenter notes, visible only to you

This setup is designed to keep your delivery smooth and your message clear, even as your presentation moves through pans and zooms.

How do I open Presenter view in Prezi (online or desktop)?

You can launch Presenter view in Prezi Present online or in the Prezi for desktop app:

  • From the editor: Click PresentPresenter view
  • From the dashboard: Click the three dots (⋮) or the arrow on the presentation thumbnail → Presenter view
  • If you’re already presenting: Click Presenter view in the bottom-right corner

If you are presenting in a browser, enable pop-ups so the Presenter view window can open correctly.

Why won’t Presenter view open in my browser?

In most cases, Presenter view does not open because the browser blocks the extra window. Fix it by:

  • Allowing pop-ups for Prezi in your browser settings.
  • Re-launching from Present → Presenter view (or from the dashboard menu).

If you still only see one screen while using a projector or second monitor, check your display settings. You typically want Extend display, not Mirror/Duplicate, to keep presenter notes private.

How do I keep my presenter notes private on a projector or during a video call?

To ensure your audience never sees your notes:

  • In-person (projector / second screen): Set your computer display mode to Extend. This keeps Presenter view on your device and the presentation on the external screen.
  • Online (Zoom/Teams/Meet): Share only the presentation window, not your entire screen.

If you have two displays, use Switch screen in Presenter view to choose which screen shows the presentation vs your private view.

Can I edit presenter notes while I’m presenting? Do they update automatically?

Yes. Presenter notes automatically update as you move through your presentation, so the notes you see always match what you are presenting at that moment.

To add or edit notes while presenting:

  • In Presenter view, click inside the presenter notes text box.
  • Type to add or update your notes.
