Using callouts in Infographics (Prezi Design)

With callouts, you can give your viewers additional context on the information you have visualized without taking up extra space on the canvas. Include text and images in the callouts and customize them to your liking.

Paid feature: Callouts are available for users with a Premium or higher Prezi plan. Luckily it’s a breeze to upgrade your license and get access to this and all the other great features our Prezi plans have to offer.

Adding a callout to the canvas

Callouts may be used on all of the graphics shapes available in the editor (except arrows and lines). Select a shape or a graphic by clicking on it, then head over to the settings panel on the right and click on Add callout. As the callout appears, you can start typing right away.

Customizing the callout

Positioning

Expand the Positioning dropdown in the right-side settings panel and select whether you wish to position the callout on top, left, right, or bottom of the shape/graphic.

Behavior

You can alter the Behavior of the callout. Select whether you want it to open on hover (desktop)/ tap (mobile) or on click (desktop)/ tap (mobile).

Background color

Change the background color of the callout by clicking on the color box next to Background color. Pick one of the theme colors, use the color picker, or type in a hex color code.

To add an image to the callout, click on Add... within the content positioning box, then select an image from the graphic library or upload an image of your own.

You can then change the positioning of the content within the callout. Select whether you wish the text and image to appear side by side or one above the other.

Resizing the image and text

It's possible to resize the content of your callout with a few simple clicks. Click on the image or text box within the callout to select it. Hover over one of the sides or corners until a double-headed arrow appears, then drag it inwards or outwards.

Resizing the paddings and adding a shadow

With the Fixed paddings option enabled, your callout will have a 10px padding on each side. However, if you choose to disable it, you can change the width of the padding to your liking by dragging the sides of the callout box inwards or outwards.

With the Show shadow option enabled, a shadow will appear behind your callout.

It's also possible to add hyperlinks within the callout and edit the image of the callout. To read more on this, check out the articles about adding URL links to content and editing images in Infographics.
