After you've added text to your design, you can use various customization options to edit it to your liking. Use the settings panel on the right to modify the text's size, level of rotation, transparency, font type, color, style, alignment, line height, and letter spacing. You can also add numbered lists or bullet points, as well as hyperlink the text. Read on to see how.
Resizing and rotating the text boxes
- Click on the text box you wish to edit.
- To resize the text, drag one of the corners of the text box inwards or outwards. If you want to make the text box narrower or wider, drag its sides either way.
- Rotate the text by clicking on the rotation handle at the bottom left of the text box and dragging your mouse either way. If you want to be really precise, enter the preferred degree of rotation from 1° to 359° in the settings panel on the right (under Rotation).
Adjusting text transparency
Adjust text transparency by moving the slider in the settings panel or by inserting a percentage of transparency from 1 to 100. The higher the percentage, the more transparent the text will be.
Changing the color of the text
- Click on the text box you wish to edit.
- Click on the color box in the settings panel on the right. You can choose one of the theme colors, pick a custom color with the color picker, or paste a hex color code in the text input field.
Changing the font and font size
- Click on the text box you want to edit.
- Click on the Font drop-down menu to pick one of the fonts available on the list.
- To change the font size, click on the Font size drop-down menu and select the size in pixels, the smallest being 9px, and the largest – 150px. You can also drag the slider right and left to resize the text.
Standard text formatting
- Select the text field you wish to make bold, underline, or italicize and use the settings panel to apply the formatting.
- Select the text field and use the horizontal alignment options: align left, center, align right, or justify.
Adjusting line height and letter spacing
Adjust line height and letter spacing to change the look of your text and, most importantly, improve text readability and increase the point of emphasis.
- Click on the text box you wish to edit.
- Use the Line height and Letter spacing sliders in the settings panel on the right to adjust text spacing.
Creating lists
Lists are great for drawing the audience's attention to important facts and information. You can use an unordered list with bullet points or an ordered list with numbers.
- Select the text box you wish to customize by clicking on it.
- Choose the list you want to use under List type in the settings panel on the right.
- Add new bullets or numbers by hitting Enter when in the text box.
Making text subscript or superscript
- Select the text you want to customize.
- Go to the settings panel on the right and choose the subscript or superscript option by clicking on it.
Hyperlinking the text
It's also possible to add links to the text objects. You can use URLs, web-based files, as well as email addresses (mailto: links).
To add a hyperlink:
- Mark the text you wish to hyperlink.
- Click on Add link in the settings panel on the right and enter a URL link in the pop-up window.
To set up an email link, replace https:// with mailto:. For example, mailto:example@prezi.com.
