Uploading customs maps in Prezi Design

With Prezi Design, you can visualize geographic data on any location you prefer by uploading your own custom map. We support JSON, GeoJSON, KML, and TopoJSON files that do not exceed 10MB in size. Continue reading to learn how you can upload your own custom maps.

Paid feature: The option to upload custom maps is available for users with a Premium or higher Prezi plan. Luckily it’s a breeze to upgrade your license and get access to this and all the other great features our Prezi plans have to offer.

Uploading the map file

  1. Select Add map in the toolbar on the left of the editor.
  2. Expand the Custom tab at the top.
  3. Select Upload and pick the file from your computer. Then choose Open.

Adjusting your custom map upload

Once you've picked a map from your computer, it's time to adjust some of its parameters. Choose the map's ID, set the group name, and pick the label.

  • ID: The ID you choose will be used to map your data. Switch between the available options to divide your map into individual areas or grouped areas.
  • Group name: This selection will be used to arrange your data entries into groups. Hover the mouse cursor over the preview to see the group names.
  • Label: Labels are displayed in the tooltips that appear when hovering over a map. You can set the label to display the same value as the ID or pick another option. They can also be adjusted later on.

Once you're all set, select Import. You and your team will be able to access the map from the Custom tab under Add map. To learn more about map editing, read the article on customizing your map in Prezi Design.

Managing your uploads

After you or someone from your team has uploaded a custom map, you can rename it, download the map file to your computer, as well as remove the map from the team library.
