How to use the eyedropper tool to change colors in Prezi Present

The eyedropper tool can help you perfectly match colors across your presentation. You can pull from any area of your presentation or screen and place your colors in a color palette to easily use them later.

  1. Click Style at the top of the editor, then select Colors.
  2. The colors panel will appear. From here, you can select a palette to edit or create a new one.
  3. With a color palette open, click one of the color swatches to open the color picker.
  4. Click on the eyedropper icon.
  5. With the eyedropper selected, you can now move your cursor around and select a new color. This will replace the color you selected with whatever color the eyedropper is showing.

You can repeat this for an entire color palette, or just do it once for a specific color. Remember that you can place images in your presentation and pull colors from them!

Selecting the eyedropper tool

You can always reach the eyedropper tool from the colors side panel. This side panel can be reached in a number of ways depending on your workflow.

Once you’ve reached the colors panel, access the eyedropper tool:

  1. In the color panel, select a palette to edit or create a new one.
  2. Click Create new to create a new color palette, or click the Pencil icon on an existing palette to edit it.
  3. With a color palette open, click one of the color swatches to open the color picker.
  4. Click on the eyedropper icon.

These steps remain the same regardless of how you access the color panel.

Pro Tip: Use Prezi Present in Google Chrome to be able to select colors from your entire screen with the eyedropper tool, instead of what’s only in your presentation.

Getting to the color panel using the top bar

This is the simplest way to reach the color panel regardless of what you’re doing in your presentation. Just click the Style button at the top of the editor, then select Colors.

Using the eyedropper tool

The eyedropper tool can be used to select a new color and add it to a color palette. Once you’ve clicked on the eyedropper icon, your cursor will change to a large circle that zooms in wherever you navigate. This is to better show you the colors that you can select.

With the eyedropper tool selected:

  1. Navigate to the color you want to add to your color palette.
  2. Line up the pixels to select the right shade. This is particularly important if you’re selecting a color from an image or low-resolution area.
  3. When the color looks right, click on it. This will apply the new color to the color palette and close the eyedropper tool.

Once a color palette has been updated, every instance of that color in your presentation will change. For instance, if you change the main color from a blue to a red, that will update everywhere that you previously used the first blue.
