Why was I charged?

We bill you with a recurring charge for any paid Prezi plan at the end of each billing cycle or at the end of the trial period in case you did not cancel your subscription beforehand.

What is Prezi?

Prezi is a presentation platform built on HTML5 technology, which gives you a consistent, high resolution, and smooth experience for your conversational presentation needs.

Whether you’re giving a pitch to a potential client, training employees, or outlining future business plans, Prezi enables you to convey your message in a memorable way through conversational storytelling.

Understand an unfamiliar charge from Prezi

If there is a Prezi charge on your credit card or PayPal account that you don’t recognize, check your payment details on your Account Settings.

Note: If you have an active Prezi subscription and the renewal is due, we automatically charge your card. Learn more about it here.

Common reasons for unrecognized charges

Here are some common reasons for charges that might not look familiar and how to manage them.

You have more than one Prezi account or Prezi Teams account

If you used different emails or third-party accounts (e.g. Google, Facebook), you may have multiple accounts. If you're a student or a business user, you might have signed up with a school or corporate email address instead of your personal one and vice-versa.

Check each account to see if the charge is for any of them. If you're a part of a Prezi Teams account, only the administrator can see the billing information here

Your free trial ended

Prezi plans renew automatically. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, you'll be charged for the renewal. You can check your receipts, and details of your plan and payments on your Account Settings page.

We send notification emails about the trial end and payment confirmation. If you can't find it in your email inbox (or spam folder) there is a high chance you've signed up with a different or misspelled email address.

Note: You're not eligible for free trials if you've already had a trial or you've purchased a paid plan before.

You have upgraded during trial

When you upgrade during a trial, you are charged immediately, and any remaining trial days are canceled. We will send a notification email confirming your payment. You can review your plan details and payment history on your Account Settings page.

It seems you have been charged too much

You can double-check the price of your plan in your Account Settings. Please note that our subscriptions are billed annually. The full price (including tax) and the exact billing date are shown when you enter your payment information and during checkout.

It looks like you were charged twice

If you upgrade while your current subscription is still active, you may be charged for the prorated cost of the new plan. The upgrade price is displayed upon payment.

To review your plan and payments, visit your Account Settings. You may also want to check your bank statement for more details.

If the payment appears as pending or processing, this is a temporary authorization from your payment provider. In case a regular payment fails, we will retry later. You may see both the failed and successful payments on your bank statement, but only the successful payment will be processed.

You were charged a credit card authentication

This authentication process may temporarily debit up to $1.00 from your bank account to verify your payment details, then credit it back immediately. While usually invisible, some users may receive a notification of the charge, which is automatically refunded after verification.

Multiple people from your company have separate subscriptions using the same company card

If there are multiple people in your company using Prezi, check out this article on how to manage your team and licenses.

Someone new may have been invited and joined your team

An unfamiliar charge may be due to a new user being added to your team. For further details, you can contact your Admin. To identify the administrator of your Prezi account:

  1. Go to the license page in your Settings
  2. Click Contact admin

If you're the Administrator, you can manage your team by removing users who no longer belong to your organization. Here's how:

  1. Log in and click on your name in the top-right corner of the Dashboard
  2. Select Admin Console
  3. On the left-hand side, click Members
  4. Find the user’s email, and click Remove to revoke their license

You still can't identify your purchase

Note: In most cases, when there’s uncertainty over a charge, it’s because someone else in your office or home has signed up for Prezi without your knowledge.

If you followed everything above and think your payment details were used for Prezi purchases without your permission or you received a charge but can't locate the Prezi account connected to it, please contact us and include the following details:

  • Charge amount and date
  • Email addresses you might have used to sign up
  • Invoice number, Transaction ID - If you can’t find it, please check any other email account you may have used and spam folders
  • If the payment was via credit card: the last 4 digits of the credit card used and the name of the cardholder
  • If the payment was via PayPal: email address associated with your PayPal account

I don’t want to pay for Prezi again

If you wish to cancel your subscription, just follow the instructions on this page.
