Adding and editing images in Prezi Present

Images enhance your audience’s experience and help them recall your words. They also help your viewers focus on you rather than reading text.

You can add images to a topic, subtopic, or directly to the presentation canvas. To learn how to make an image or icon as your topic cover, click here.

Adding images

To add an image to your presentation:

1. Go to the area where you’d like to add the image.

2. Click the Insert button at the top of your screen, then select Image.

3. From here, you can:

Add an image from your own Library
Click Upload image to add an image saved on your computer or click the arrow next to the button to select a file from Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive.
Search the Unsplash image library by keyword. Once you find the image you want to use, click on the thumbnail or drag+drop it onto your canvas.

You’ll see your image appear as it loads in the background. You can then move, resize, rotate, and edit the image for just the right look.

Adding and changing a background image

1. Click the Style button at the top of your screen.

2. Click the three dots (...) next to Background to open the sidebar. You can also click directly on the Background thumbnail to automatically refresh the background image.

3. From the "Background" sidebar, you can:

Click Upload image to add an image saved on your computer.
Search the Unsplash image library by keyword. Once you find the image you want to use, click on the thumbnail or drag+drop it onto your canvas.*

If you want to fit the image to your overview, click the Frame icon at the bottom of your screen. To bring back the original background image that came with the template, simply select the revert icon on the left. To remove the background image completely, click the Trash icon.

Note: For best results, Prezi recommends uploading a background image that's originally sized at 1800 pixels in width. This way, you know exactly how the image will look in your presentation.

Editing images

Adding a color overlay to your image

1. Select the image you'd like to add a color overlay to.

2. Select Style presets from the context toolbar to add an overlay that matches the color scheme of your presentation.

3. To select a different color, go to Fill color. Here, you can also adjust the saturation of the color overlay.

Advanced image editing

1. Click on the image you'd like to edit.

2. Click Advanced image editing in the context toolbar. You can also right-click (CMD/CTRL+click) directly on the image and select Advanced image editing from the context menu.

3. You will then be taken to the image editor. From here you can:

Crop your image
Apply a filter
Adjust and refine image settings (brightness, contrast, shadows, etc.)
Set the focus
Draw on your image using the paintbrush
Add a frame to your image

4. When you're finished editing, click Update in the top-right corner of the image editor to apply the changes.

Pro Tip: Want to undo your edits? No problem. Just press CMD/CTRL+Z on your keyboard, or go to Edit > Undo in the top menu, to revert to the original image.

Move, resize, rotate and crop images

To move

Click the image and drag it anywhere on the canvas. After you’ve moved it to where you would like it to be, release the mouse.

To resize

To change an image’s size, click on its box to select it, and then drag a corner to enlarge or reduce it.

To rotate

Click on the image to select it. Then hold down the ALTGr key (right ALT+CTRL) in Windows, or CMD for Mac, and drag one of the corners of the box up or down to turn it.

To crop

Select the image, then click the crop icon in the top toolbar to crop your image or click the arrow next to the icon to use a crop preset. To learn more about cropping images in Prezi Present, check this article!

Replacing and deleting images

Right-click or CMD/CTRL+click on an image and select Replace image... from the context menu. The new image you upload will keep the same dimensions and position as the original.

To delete

To remove an image or clip art from your canvas, click on it and press the DELETE/BACKSPACE key on your keyboard. You can also right-click (CMD/CTRL+click) and select Delete from the context menu.

Tip: If you accidentally delete an object, just press CTRL/CMD+Z to undo the action.

Layering images

If you have overlapping images, you can control which image appears in front by using the context menu.

Right-click (CMD/CTRL+click) on an image and select Bring to front or Send to back to move images forwards or back.

Copying and pasting

You can copy and paste images from one presentation to another or within the same presentation:

To copy, select an image and press CTRL/CMD+C or right-click on the image and select Copy. It will add the image to your clipboard.
To paste, hold down CMD/CTRL+V or right-click on the area where you want to place the image and select Paste.

Selecting multiple images

You can select multiple items by holding the SHIFT key and clicking each image or object. You can also hold the SHIFT key and drag your cursor around the objects. You'll see a blue box appear around the selected objects. You can then move, rotate, copy, or add animations to them as a group.

Using an image as your topic cover

You can easily make an image, icon, or another object as the topic cover by removing the topic shape and adding anything else instead to the topic cover.

Right-click (CMD/Ctrl+click) on the topic and select Advanced topic editing...
Select the topic shape and use the Backspace key to remove it.
Insert the icon/image etc. you would like to use and click on it to add it to the topic cover.
Adjust its size and send it to the front or the back.

Prezi Present supports JPGs, PNGs, PDFs, and GIFs.
