In order to be able to record a Prezi Video, all you need is a good idea, a big smile, and just a bit of free time... oh, and also a computer with a camera.
Enabling your camera and microphone
To fully utilize Prezi Video’s video creation power, you’ll need to make sure your built-in or external camera and microphone are enabled.
When you first open Prezi Video (online or desktop), you’ll be prompted to enable your camera and microphone. They should connect automatically; however, you will see a popup message if there is an issue connecting the camera or the microphone.

Prezi Video on the web
1. Your computer does not have a camera or the laptop lid is not opened properly.
Please use a different device (with a built-in webcam) or connect a camera to your computer. Also, make sure the correct display (laptop or external screen) that contains the camera is selected.
2. The browser (and Prezi Video) can’t access your camera or microphone because it is blocked in the security settings of your computer.
Mac
- On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click Privacy.
- Click Camera.
- Select the checkbox next to "Prezi Video" to allow access to your camera.
Windows
- On Windows, go to Start > Settings > Privacy > Camera.
- Choose your preferred setting for Allow apps to access your camera.
- Under Choose which apps can access your camera, turn the individual settings for apps On or Off.
3. The camera or microphone is connected and camera access is allowed in the browser but you haven't granted access for this specific page yet.
The website will show a popup message asking you to allow or block camera access. Please click Allow so that the Prezi Video website can access your camera and microphone.
4. Chrome/Edge can’t access your camera or microphone because it has been blocked in the browser itself.

5. Chrome/Edge (and Prezi Video) can’t access your camera or microphone because it’s being used by another tool or program.
Please close the application that is using your camera (Skype, other web conferencing tools, etc.) so you can instead access it with Prezi Video.
6. The camera is connected, the browser and the specific page have access to the camera but there's an unknown error.
Please check the permission both in the computer and browser settings again and reload the page. If you still cannot see yourself, please contact our Support team where we will try to assist you as soon as possible.
Prezi Video on Mac
