Setting a path for topics and subtopics in Prezi Present

Every story is unique, and so should the path one takes when telling it. Depending on your narrative, you might need to give an overview between each talking point, or you might have to jump right into the next topic.

  1. Use the left sidebar's timeline to see the order in which your content will be presented.
  2. Drag and drop the thumbnails to change the order.
  3. Click the hamburger menu in the top toolbar (or Edit menu from the desktop app) and select Topic path settings to set the path for both the topic and subtopic level, and then click Save.

Changing the order of presentation steps

When editing your presentation, you will see the timeline of your presentation steps in the left sidebar with each step listed in the order they will be shown when you're presenting.

You can determine what order your presentation steps will be presented in by simply dragging and moving them around in the left sidebar. This won't change their position on the canvas, only the order they are presented in.

You are also able to see numbers on the canvas when selecting a frame or topic, same as in the left sidebar's timeline, meaning the order in which this content will be presented.

Setting a default path for your presentation's topics

In addition, you can also determine some default path settings for your topics and subtopics to make the flow and structure of the presentation consistent and easy to follow.

From the overview, click the hamburger menu in the top toolbar and select Topic path settings from the dropdown menu. From here, you can choose a default path your topics and subtopics take when presenting.

You should know: To access the path settings in the Prezi desktop application, go to Edit in the top toolbar and select Topic path settings from the dropdown menu.

Choosing a path for your topics

You can select a path that zooms back to the overview between each topic or zooms directly to the next topic in your presentation, only zooming out to the overview at the end.

Click on the option you would like to use, then click Save

Choosing a path for your subtopics

Select a path that zooms back to the main topic between subtopics or a path that zooms directly to the next subtopic in your presentation.

Click on the option you would like to use, then click Save

Note: Path settings affect your entire presentation, meaning that each topic/subtopic will follow the same option you select. You can change the path settings any time while editing your presentation.
