With Prezi Design, you can use three different styles of maps—a heatmap, a map with an individual style, and a grouped style map. While the basic principles of coloring are the same for all three styles, there are slight differences that are described below.
Changing the colors of a heatmap
By default, every new map added to the canvas is a heatmap. This means that areas or icons displayed on the map are assigned color shades according to the numerical values indicated in the datasheet (in the Value column).
To change the colors:
- Select the map by clicking on it.
- Expand the Color tab in the settings panel on the right.
- Click on the color boxes next to Cold color and Hot color.
- Pick one of the theme colors, use the color picker, or paste a hex color code in the text box.
- You can change the heatmap spectrum in the Value tab. Move the slider to change the color range.
Changing the colors of an individual style map
Once you've selected the individual style for your map, you will see that every data entry that you have in your datasheet has been assigned its own color.
To change the colors:
- Select the map by clicking on it.
- Expand the Color tab in the settings panel on the right.
- You will then see that each datasheet entry has its own color box. Click on the color boxes and change the color by choosing a theme color, using the color picker, or by pasting a hex color code.
Changing the colors of a grouped style map
With the grouped style, the map assigns separate colors to the groups that you have indicated in the third column of the map's datasheet (Group). Once you add a new group in the datasheet, a new color box will appear in the Color tab.
To change the colors:
- Select the map by clicking on it.
- Expand the Color tab in the settings panel on the right.
- Hover over the color boxes to see which groups they are assigned to. Click on a color box and change the color by picking one of the theme colors, using the color picker, or by pasting a hex color code.
Changing the color of missing areas
When visualizing data on a map, you might not have indicators on all areas of the map. In this case, you can select the color of the missing areas.
- Select the map by clicking on it.
- Expand the Color tab in the settings panel on the right.
- Click on the color box next to Missing area color. Choose a color by picking one of the theme colors, using the color picker, or by pasting a hex color code.
Changing the map outline color
By default, all maps added to the canvas have a white outline, but you can change it at any time.
- Select the map by clicking on it.
- Expand the Color tab in the settings panel on the right.
- Click on the color box next to Map outline color. Pick one of the theme colors, use the color picker, or paste a hex color code.
