Blurring your background in Prezi Video

The virtual background feature in Prezi Video allows you to give your recorded videos or video calls a more polished look by either adding an image to your background or blurring it for a more professional feel. Here's everything you need to know about blurring your background when recording or presenting with Prezi Video.

Blurring your background

1. With the Prezi Video desktop app open, click the three dots (...) at the top of the sidebar and select Virtual background from the dropdown menu to open the virtual background sidebar.

Please note: The virtual background feature can only be used in the online editor if you have a physical green screen. However, it is not possible to use the blur background option when using a green screen. If you'd like to blur your background, please use the Prezi Video desktop app.

Can't see the virtual background option? Please check if your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Prezi Video.

2. From the virtual background sidebar, you can choose not to use a virtual background at all (default setting), select a background from our gallery or upload your own visual or blur your background by clicking the Blur thumbnail at the top.

Before you do so, make sure the I have a green screen toggle is turned off, otherwise you won't be able to blur your background.

3. Once you're done adding blurring your background, simply click the arrow next to Virtual background on the top of the sidebar to return to adding and editing content. You can always return to this sidebar and select None to remove the blurring effect.
